An independent software company building local-first AI tools — software that puts an AI agent on the user's own machine, with their data staying there.
What the company does
LightConsen LLC develops, publishes and supports AI software. Our products are Syscity, an AI agent system for desktop and mobile computers, and Kiwano, a local-first manager for AI model providers. Both run on the user's own device. The public code sits on GitHub; the applications are distributed from our websites as direct downloads.
How we earn revenue
- Monthly subscriptions. Syscity Cloud is sold in monthly plans ($10/month Pro, $24/month Enterprise), billed in advance and cancellable at any time. The plans meter cloud AI usage, web search, multi-device sync and marketplace content in monthly credits.
- Usage-based credits. Customers can buy credits beyond their plan allowance, and paid experts, skills and connectors in the marketplace are charged from the same credit balance.
- Licensing. Commercial licensing of our own software and content where a customer needs terms beyond the open-source licences.
Payments are collected by third-party payment processors. We do not lend money, hold customer funds, operate as a money transmitter, or deal in crypto assets.
How we build
We work as a small studio with a heavy use of AI tooling in our own process — the same category of software we sell. Design direction comes from the team; much of the writing and code in our repositories is produced with AI under review. We publish our code and our data (including the Kiwano Hub pricing catalogue) so that customers and reviewers can check what we claim.
